Hi I’m Mandy from Mindset for success and today I’d like to share with you a second poor behaviour to avoid at all cost. It’s one I’ve written about. I’ve written an eBook and I’ve done a couple of other videos on it. And it begins with the word P – and yes it is procrastination. Procrastination is the biggest waster of time ever. But here’s the thing – when you procrastinate you are probably doing something but you’re not doing the important and it’s focusing on the important things that help us achieve our goals, get the things done that we need to do and achieve our outcomes. And live a happier healthier life and become a star performer in our life. So next time you catch yourself procrastinating stop for a moment and you’ll notice that you’re probably doing something else but it’s an easy task that makes you feel better. It could be checking social media or getting distracted and going out and making a cup of coffee. And the key thing here is to be aware and stop doing something else. Literally stop doing that other thing. Stop totally and do nothing for a few minutes simply focus on the task that you need to do. I’ve shared a video on this and I’ve written a couple of articles, but neuroscience has shown that when you focus on the task at hand you actually break that anxiety procrastination state and it allows you to refocus and move forward. The other little tip in that is to think of what else you’re doing in your day put in in perspective. You have made a mountain out of this task but you know that in the rest of the day or tomorrow, there’ll be something that you enjoy. So focus on that so that your brain can help you move towards pleasure and away from pain, which has been that task that you don’t want to do. And the more you become aware of when you procrastinate the more you’ll be able to change it. And to be a massive action taker is probably one of the best behaviors that you can create in your life. And make sure that it becomes a lasting habit and you can be assured of so much more success in your life. Thank you I’m Mandy from Mindset for Success.
