March 20, 2018 Reply Steve Hunt Makes sense, but im a man, i gotta have MEAT!! ?, PLANT BASED, makes perfect sense though, just honestly wouldnt have the willpower to stay with it,THANKS for the information regardless, have a great day GORGEOUS March 20, 2018 Reply Steve Hunt Good for them, but I'm never going to be an Olympic athlete, i drink tons of water (always have my whole life), i have a Pepsi or coke once and a while and don't drink beer anymore because of my INJURY , so slow and steady March 20, 2018 Reply Kata Szerepi actually, eating vegan does NOT mean you have to eat big volumes and so much food! you can eat higher fat, caloric dense plantbased foods (such as nuts, proccessed food, bread etc.) which are also great in recovery! Eventually your stomach will adjust to the portions you desire, and it won't be an issue anymore. March 21, 2018 Reply Snake 27 I feel like I can eat a lot but I do get bloated from it, however if I eat intuitively and stop just when I feel I´ve had enough, just at a normal portion size. It´s not a huge amount plant based as opposed to before.. so really I think it depends on which food you eat…a salad can be big and then filling, alternatively one slice of avocado toast which is not bigger than any other kinda toast with any other kind of non-vegan topping, can also be just as filling imo. But either way thanks for sharing! great information regarding metablosim. March 22, 2018 Reply Ellie Kc What is set point?. My body is fat I have hypothyroidism it sucks. Right now I'm under weight but naturally I'm fat March 22, 2018 Reply Ellie Kc Your metabolism speeds up by tricking it, eating a different amount of callories every day also hiit workouts are great March 22, 2018 Reply Steve Hunt Are you in Canada?? March 23, 2018 Reply Steve Hunt What part?? I'm in hanna alberta (small town – 3000 people 2 hous west of Calgary March 23, 2018 Reply HowlHatter I have had so many up and downs with my weight and eating. I've been back and forth between normal and underweight multiple times in a year. I feel like there's some truth to the "set point" theory, because no matter how badly I would binge, for days, weeks and months, I never actually weigh more than 130 pounds, which is the weight I was when I started dieting/disordered eating in the first place. I could lose weight until I was ungerweight, but I could never go beyond 130. I found that very weird, because I would binge horribly. I think, because that was my natural weight as a result of my lifestyle and environment, it was incredibly difficult to gain unless I ate as extremely as I would starve to lose weight. Tho I'm a bit confused… so did your ed lower your set point and your body adjusted with a balanced vegan diet? Or would you say that if you had gone vegan before that, it would have gotten to the set point anyway? April 8, 2018 Reply Peryer Media I can maintain on like 1,000 cals a day! I love eggs way too much, but meat, milk and dairy can definitely go. August 15, 2018 Reply ksmspeace I would really love to see a video with more about set point. I haven't dealt with an eating disorder but I've had significant weight changes and I'm puzzled by how flexible my "set point" seems to be. I've maintained, for months or years at a time without any attention to my calorie count, weights as much as 40 pounds apart. I don't know if this just means I'm doing better at intuitive eating and intuitive exercising at some weights compared to others, or is my weight just not very fixed? August 29, 2018 Reply Annie Adelina Were you purposely eating in a caloric deficit or did your appetite naturally lower when your weight was going back down to your set point? September 5, 2018 Reply Sean Wilson Nothing about you is too embarrassing, luv. ?❤ September 19, 2018 Reply fat squirrel I'm never going to be naturally thin or have a thin set point, but I've maintained a 130 lb weight loss from my early 30s for the past 10 years. 220 to 90 (4'10") with a 60 goal. October 8, 2018 Reply T. S. But I don't want to eat a plant based diet… October 9, 2018 Reply just Neuering @7:39 this is totally wrong. Carbohydrates turn to fat , while fat from food doesn't , protein turn to fat if you ate too much protein October 12, 2018 Reply Nachtfalter I was like you most of my life (bodywise, your older pictures), and actually my cousins looked like yours. I switched vegan a few years ago for the animals, so at first I tried all the yummy vegan things you could buy cause I wanted to try them and I gained weight. It lowered itself over time again a little so I looked like before my vegan times again. I am not a junk food vegan, but even on plants you can easily overeat, at least me. ^^ So the last half year I cut my calories with intermittend fasting, and yay it works so far but very slowly, and I wonder if I can mantain it.But I am not really sure what advice I should take from your video, because you seem to have your current weight because you can eat more volume of plants than on animal foods and uh that did not do anything for me (weightwise, for my heart it was the best choice ever). ^^ November 8, 2018 Reply Um actually Sorry but you ARE naturally skinny. November 10, 2018 Reply redmotherfive Her mom is too busy to drive her daughter to school smh November 19, 2018 Reply Bi-Polar Bear I absolutely know this was not the intention of the video, but including the vegan stuff in a video with the intended audience of people just entering recovery, in quasi-recovery, or thinking about recovery, is extremely dangerous. You are basically saying "eating vegan will make you skinnier than your body wants to be" as in, vegan as just another restrictive diet to people with eating disorders. I just think it would be much, much better to make posts specifically about veganism and not add it to videos like this where people will see it as "the recovery diet". Nothing wrong with veganism, but its a death trap for people with orthorexia while in recovery. November 29, 2018 Reply Joyful cookie S Very enlightening December 4, 2018 Reply veggiesforlife Phytonutrients in fruit n veg repair your mitochonia too. I am like your mom but eat junk and am a little heavy like wss happening to you after puberty. If i just swap cakes donuts desserts breads n sodas for fruit n veg including even starches weight falls off. I find those other foods act like a soothing drug for me though so I've resolved to just try to keep them in balance and keep fighting the battle for BALANCE. That's my true struggle is not beating myself up and accepting or buying into the messages that I'm not enough just the way I am. Without this I gravitate toward people, products, diets, media sources etc that are BASED on the idea that I am broken and need fixing. That's the most dangerous to my health there is! ? Thanks for inspiring me to put more plants on my plate! Love that Avocado in the back! December 6, 2018 Reply BONNIE J. MARVIN what can I do to increase my appetite. My appetite is almost non existant. It is very frustrating. I want to speed up my metabolism. I'm disabled and can hardly exercise. My body is fatter than it has ever been and I hardly eat cuz I'm just not hungry and I really don't have any cravings. Please reply at [email protected] December 23, 2018 Reply MILK HEAD You’re awesome December 26, 2018 Reply rachael is awake v thanks so much for making this video! I've never had an eating disorder but the same thing happened to me in high school, I just kept gaining weight and it never really stopped 🙁 Couldn't stick with a 'diet' long enough to lose the weight, but now I'm starting to eat more calories of whole plant foods and gradually feeling better! It's made me really excited for the future <3 (Also got a keto diet add before this video lmao..) January 13, 2019 Reply Mitchy Sassi I'm confused, you ate 1,600 during your eating disorder? Like, the whole thing? February 13, 2019 Reply absolutless You are naturally skinny, you've never been fat. February 16, 2019 Reply Hunter Fagan Oh shit. I went from 1300 cals to 10000 in one day February 16, 2019 Reply Sarah Lassiter an eating disorder eating 1600 calories proves that its in your mind not the numbers February 23, 2019 Reply Lily R This is so much smarter than many other videos about weight loss and metabolism March 5, 2019 Reply Helena Hayes didnt understand how you reset your set point, other than it had something to do with diet, and that you went vegan and ate intuitively – whatever that means. and you mentioned briefly a few other things. But you didnt give a clear set of instructions as to how you lost the weight. March 12, 2019 Reply Sierra Foster I thought about veganism but personally i find that to be very restricting as I often crave meat and that would be unhealthy for me (plus I'm anemic yea ima use that as an excuse)) April 21, 2019 Reply Thu T This video is very helpful thank you May 3, 2019 Reply Elizabeth Puchailo I love you. I am also a girl who needed to walk… In minus thirty weather… On flat windy plains… No rides. May 15, 2019 Reply Danah D. I'm also from Canada and I can tell you I ALSO walk 25 minutes to get to school, no matter what. May 27, 2019 Reply Jade Law This is full of fat logic 😐 June 2, 2019 Reply Ditched My Diet Thank you so much for talking about your set point weight. I am trying to figure mine out by intuitively eating and seeing what happens. I am like your mother, very, very active and don’t generally get full off of a plant-based diet. I have tried enough to know. Thanks for a great video. June 12, 2019 Reply Bunny Smith I don't know what you're doing but you have not stumbled onto some kind of thermogenesis diet. I have been vegan 15 years and have been seriously trying to lose weight for much of that time and it is unbudgable. And I am NOT a junk food vegan. June 24, 2019 Reply Shauna McCloskey lol i wish i could eat 1600 cals and still lose like what i maintain at 800 cals June 29, 2019 Reply Aliya Katz 1600 or 600 calories? July 3, 2019 Reply Hunter Fagan You say that we all are suppose to look different, but youre making a video on how to become skinny. What a hypocrite July 5, 2019 Reply kristinishere veganism is not healthy for 98% of people and you should not be promoting it as a weight loss plan. most people who go vegan end up deficient in things. vegan does not equal health by any chance. if i were vegan i would be extremely sick. i'm thin on a diet full of animal products and if i were vegan i would be starving. (i know from experience trying it, for years) July 15, 2019 Reply LOLthisfun I feel like some of your videos are mostly catered to people who have struggled with anorexia and I feel like you should make a disclaimer for people who are obese just bc of the "if you don't feel like moving" type of remarks. I still enjoy your videos but I wouldn't want the wrong type of people getting the wrong idea July 17, 2019 Reply Hunter Fagan Plant based foods dont boost your metabolism. That’s impossible. July 25, 2019 Reply Hunter Fagan I think you looked better at a higher weight July 25, 2019 Reply Ciana Wilson You are beautiful! And big yes to set point theory! 🙂 July 26, 2019 Reply Hunter Fagan Stuffing yourself with tons of vegetables and low calorie foods does not lower your set point. It just makes you go below your set point, which is not natural. I highly doubt that you eat whatever you crave. That is what will bring you to your set point. You might think that you truly crave vegetables and fruits, but you dont. When i was malnourished, i only craved those things because that was what my body only thought was available August 18, 2019 Reply MOOR TIGHT You are fucking gross. Child food every video. Ugh! September 10, 2019 Reply I want be a designer UK In still skinny ish September 25, 2019 Reply Cristian 250 Does any 1 know of a good chanel on u tube or website to get vegan tasty filling recipes/meal plans to help me in my recovery thanks in advance 🙂 October 10, 2019 Reply Jennifer Juneau What you are saying makes a lot of sense. You remind me of Freelee (in a good way.) Nobody has believed her, but you are right. You need to eat a lot and finally, after a while, you will eventually reach a set point. You might have to gain a bit at first, but most people quit at that point and mess their metabolism up even more. October 17, 2019 Reply Levi Jones Okay but I tried "eating intuitively," and I just couldn't stop. If I don't count my calories and match them up to exercise level, I will binge and eat 6000+ calories a day. So how does that get me to my set point? October 31, 2019 Reply Evie Cummins I'm not allowed to be vegan because I'm in anorexia recovery… oh damn guess I can never be skinny November 10, 2019 Reply Vegan Ichiiego I just want to say am so happy you lost your weight as you are very attractive now compared to when you used to have a lot of weight, more over wright people need to realise how attractive they can be if they do what you did and lose the weight also you are lucky becouse you know how to lose weight where as most people have no idea how to lose weight:) November 13, 2019 Reply saraa x You said increase slowly so it’s safer but I’m eating so much more quickly due to extreme hunger.
